New “Green Layer” Packaging at Jowat
Jowat is therefore replacing some of its plastic IBCs and drums with containers which consist of 30% recycled material. The key difference is the three-layer structure. The middle layer consists of high-quality recycled material, while the inner layer, which comes into contact with the product, and the outer layer are made exclusively of new material. Jowat adhesives will therefore continue to only come into contact with new material (HDPE). Apart from reducing the need for new plastic, this change also saves 6.8 kg CO₂ per IBC and up to 3.8 kg CO₂ per drum.
The new packaging solutions have brought Jowat another step closer to the sustainable development goals. The enterprise aims to consistently increase the proportion of circular products in its over portfolio by 2025.
