Reliable Bonding Every Application

In the world of wood window and door production, where requirements for material performance, energy efficiency and sustainability are constantly rising, having a high-quality, specialized bonding solution is a major advantage. Jowat supplies a comprehensive portfolio of adhesives which meet the wide range of requirements and challenges in the modern construction industry. These products have been developed to optimize the manufacturing process and increase the durability and quality of the building elements.

The production of windows and doors requires strong and long-lasting connections which can withstand exposure to different stresses and climates. Jowat adhesives meet these requirements due to their bonding strength and high resistance to weathering. They ensure a permanent bond which withstands moisture and changing temperatures, contributing to the durability of the building elements.

High-performance adhesives for wood windows

Apart from protecting from the elements, windows also have to meet different requirements in terms of thermal insulation and security. In this context, adhesives play an essential role in the design, functionality and durability of windows. For wood windows, Jowat provides different PVAc (polyvinyl acetate) and EPI (emulsion polymer isocyanate) glues as well as PUR (polyurethane) hot melt adhesives, each with an outstanding resistance to water and heat.

For applications that require a higher resistance to weathering, the adhesive manufacturer Jowat supplies Jowacoll® 102.26, a classic in the PVAc dispersion adhesive portfolio. The two-component D4 dispersion adhesive has been a trusted choice for decades. Characterized by high strength levels, easy processing and low emissions, this adhesive meets strict standards for a “pollutant-free” indoor air.

Jowacoll® 102.26 is especially valued for laminating window scantlings and for fingerjointing. In applications with high-frequency presses, it significantly reduces pressing times, increasing process efficiency. This glue is a powerful dispersion adhesive which proves its worth in a wide range of applications.

When manufacturers have to join different wood types, including tropical species, or when extra water and temperature resistance is needed, two-component EPI systems are an excellent choice. EPI stands for emulsion polymer isocyanate. The EPI adhesives Jowacoll® 102.40 and Jowacoll® 102.50 from Jowat coupled with the matching crosslinking agent form a system which impresses with easy and clean handling in the field. These modern adhesives provide durable, long-lasting bonding due to their reliable resistance to extreme weather conditions and their strong adhesion to challenging wood types. In addition, the low viscosity of Jowacoll® 102.40 allows for flexible application by nozzle, rollers or curtain coaters.

Adhesives for wood doors

Jowat adhesives provide similar advantages for both interior and exterior doors made from wood. Wood doors not only need to be robust but also visually appealing. Jowat adhesives facilitate smooth and invisible connections that maintain the door’s aesthetic appeal and integrity. Due to their versatility, they can be used with different wood species and processing methods, providing a reliable performance each day. The enterprise supplies different adhesive technologies for doors that must not only look good but also meet a range of functional demands, from protection against wind, heat, cold, noise and fire to security.

For profile wrapping and flat lamination, Jowat provides tried and trusted products such as Jowatherm® PUR 605.62 to Jowatherm® PUR 609.30, which are characterized by high initial strength and optimum processing properties.

In addition, Jowat also supplies dispersion adhesives, such as Jowacoll® 103.10 or Jowacoll® 103.30, which provide high resistances to water and heat, low emissions and a wide range of adhesion.

Sustainability and environmental compatibility

Jowat places a high priority on environmental responsibility and occupational safety. Many adhesives are free from hazard pictograms on the label and meet strict environmental standards, reducing emissions in production and supporting safer work environments. In summary, Jowat adhesives for wood windows and wood doors deliver not only exceptional performance and durability but also environmental properties that meet today’s requirements in the industry.
